Russia: BaselCement output up 4% YoY

BaselCement produced just over 1Mt of cement and clinker in the first half of 2015, up four per cent YoY, according to the statement.

"Significant growth in production was achieved at Serebryansk Cement Plant: the enterprise produced almost 650,000t of cement in the first half. Shipments to the construction market in Moscow and Moscow region rose 15 per cent YoY. The plant's share of the Moscow region's cement market rose to nine per cent," BaselCement said.

The Achinsk Cement Plant shipped 64,000t of cement to the Siberian Federal District in the six month period, double the amount in the comparative period of the previous year. "This was the result of the investment project totalling RUB160m aimed at increasing capacity to produce the given grades," the Russian cement producer said. The company's share of the construction materials market in the Siberian FD was about 10 per cent.

BaselCement has a total cement capacity of 3.2Mt. The holding company's key enterprises are the Achinsk Cement Plant and Serebryansk Cement Plant, as well as Uglovsk Lime Plant (Novgorod region) and Glavstroy Ust-Labinsk and Glavstroy Krasnodar (both Krasnodar territory) MKSM LLC (Ryazan) and Gorenka Nerud.
