The 4.5Mta Phase 2 project of JSC Xuan Thanh Cement is entering its peak construction period, according to company reports.

More than 60 per cent of the mechanical equipment, including a clinker kiln, raw and coal mills, ESPs, bag filters and cooler,  has been delivered to the installation site. FLSmidth of Denmark was awarded the EUR100m equipment supply contract. Energy efficiency and state-of-the-art emission and process control systems were a key requirement in the design of the plant.

Representing a total investment of VND10,800bn (US$484m), the plant is situated in Bong Lang hamlet, Thanh Nghi commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province. Its location on the Day river allows transportation of raw materials and cement to and from the plant in 2000dwt vessels. Following its scheduled commissioning in 2017, it is expected that the company will supply the domestic market as well as export clinker to Europe and Asia.
