Tajikistan starts cement exports to Uzbekistan

Tajikistan has commenced the export of cement to Uzbekistan, according to the Tajik Ministry of Industry.

Since the start of this year, the country has witnessed a steep growth in cement output, boosted by the commissioning of Huaxin Gayur Cement Co, which commissioned its Yovon plant in late September 2015 and first shipped cement to Afghanistan in January 2016. In the first nine months of 2016, Tajikistan produced 1.508Mt of cement, 408,200t more than the previous year’s corresponding period.

During this time, Tajikistan has exported 162,000t of cement to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and now also Uzbekistan.
