USA: preliminary August cement shipments total 9.41Mt

Preliminary data from the US Geological Survey (USGS) for US shipments of cement in August 2016 estimate that Portland and blended cement totalled 9.41Mt in the month. This is up on July’s cement shipments of Portland and blended cements which reached 7.14Mt. For YTD, end-August, US shipments of cement totalled 61.4Mt.

The Mountain and Pacific district had the highest cement produced with1.91Mt during August. California made up the bulk of that output with 0.92Mt of shipments. Missouri was the highest producing state in the US in August with 0.97Mt of cement.

Prepared masonry cement deliveries in the USA totalled 0.22Mt during the month of August.
