Algeria expects a surplus of cement output in 2017, according to Abdeslem Bouchouareb, the country’s minister of Industry and Mines.

Domestic production is expected to reach 30Mt this year as cement producers have made several investments in the country’s production base. Last April, the minister inaugurated two new cement plants in Adrar and Biskra.
