New grinding line for Nepal

FLSmidth has signed a contract with Nepal Shalimar Pvt Ltd for engineering, procurement and supply of equipment for a new cement grinding unit for its existing cement production line. The plant is located in Simara in the Bara district, Nepal.

Nepal Shalimar Cement Pvt Ltd is a part of the Shalimar Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Nepal. The contract comprises a range of equipment, including FLSmidth OK™ 19-3 mill, bag filters, weigh feeders, truck loading machine, OK™ mill gear reducer and plant control systems.

The order will enable the plant to produce 35tph ordinary Portland cement at 3200 Blaine.

"The project is an example that world class energy-efficient technology can be applied even for smaller capacity grinding units. Our technological competences and a strong local presence allow us to support many emerging markets, including Nepal," said Country Head of FLSmidth India, Carsten Riisberg Lund.

"This contract emphasises the value of FLSmidth's highly modern equipment with minimised environmental impact which will support Shalimar Cement to achieve improved productivity and operational excellence," he added.

The contract is scheduled for completion in 2Q18.
