In January 2018 the volume of cement consumption in Russia amounted to 2.2Mt, up 3.5 per cent on January 2017, reported the Cement Producers’ Union (CPU). Domestic cement production increased in January 2018 by 7.9 per cent to 2.1Mt when compared with the same period in 2017.

The CPU added that the Russian market was on course for three per cent growth in cement demand in 2018, with February's demand expected to also see a three per cent rise, supported by the building renovations in Moscow.
