A number of factories in the Birgunj industrial corridor have reported damages after a major storm hit the districts of Bara and Parsa, Nepal, on Sunday evening. Rungta Group, Kalash Cement and Chachan Group are the companies that faced the worst impact, according to Subodh Gupta, senior vice chair of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Trishakti Cement, part of Chachan Group, has reported that around 16,000 bags of produced cement were destroyed at the plant. Meanwhile, Kalash Cement has estimated losses of NPR10m (US$90,850), due to the damage caused to its produced cement.
