GICA-owned Hadjar Soud de Skidka (SCHS) plant in Algeria has exported 37,000t of clinker from Annaba port, according to its CEO Youcef Merabet.

"This cargo represents the first export operation to the African market made by the SCHS,” according to Mr Merabet. A total of 200,000t of clinker will be exported by the cement plant in 2019 as part of GICA’s 1Mt export programme to African countries. “Skikda's SCHS cement plant, which produces seven types of cement that meet the quality criteria, "aspires to position itself in the international market," Mr Merabet said.
