Cement producers in Tajikistan have manufactured 1.575Mt of cement in the first five months of 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology. In January-May 2018 output reached 1.473Mt while for the full year, over 3.844Mt was produced.

Of this total, 0.619Mt was exported, 53,000t more than in the year-ago period. Uzbekistan was the largest importer with 0.346Mt, followed by Afghanistan (0.246Mt) and Kyrgyzstan (24,500t).

The country’s current cement capacity is estimated at 4.7Mta.
