The Argentine cement market contracted by 10.1 per cent to 872,177t in November 2019 when compared with November 2018, when demand reached 970,181t, according to its domestic cement association, AFCP. The country’s market requirement was entirely supplied by domestic cement producers as no imports were reported.
In addition, the country’s cement producers exported 12,373t of cement, representing a 21.2 per cent increase in export sales.
January-November 2019
In the January-November 2019 period, cement consumption fell 5.9 per cent YoY to 10.359Mt from 11.003Mt. No cement was imported with domestic cement producers supplying the entire requirement. In addition, they exported 88,854t, improving their export sales by 25.8 per cent YoY.
