Swiss cement sales rose one per cent YoY to 1.003Mt in the second quarter of 2026, up from 993,439t in the same quarter of 2025, according to data from Cemsuisse, the Swiss Cement Industry Association. The association notes that “after signs of stabilisation the first quarter of 2026, the second quarter confirms this trend”.
January-June 2026
Cement volumes amounted to 1.798Mt in the January to June period of 2026, up 0.7 per cent YoY from 1.786Mt in the same period of 2025.
Deliveries of low-carbon cement types (CEM II and CEM III) hit a new high, accounting for 98.6 per cent of deliveries, up from 97.6 per cent in 1H25. Meanwhile, cement transported by rail accounted for 33 per cent of deliveries, down from 35 per cent. Bulk sales accounted for 96 per cent of deliveries, unchanged from a year earlier. Cement delivered to ready-mix concrete plants accounted for 73 per cent of deliveries, up from 71 per cent.
