Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the US and Puerto Rico amounted to 6.804Mt in February 2026, up 11.3 per cent YoY from the 6.615Mt recorded in February 2025.

Excluding for sales to Puerto Rico and overseas territories, cement consumption in the US jumped 11.8 per cent YoY in February, coming in at 6.709Mt, compared to 5.999Mt a year earlier.

The key producing states for Portland and blended cement were, in descending order, Texas, Missouri, California, Florida and Alabama. The key consuming states were, in descending order, Texas, Florida, California, Georgia and Arizona accounting for 48 per cent of cement consumed.

Blended cement shipments amounted to 4.297Mt in February, up 17.2 per cent YoY from 3.668Mt a year earlier, with Texas the leading consumer.

Clinker production, excluding Puerto Rico, amounted to 3.921Mt, up 3.7 per cent YoY from 3.781Mt a year earlier, with Texas the leading producer.

Imports of cement and clinker amounted to 1.276Mt in February, down 31.4 per cent YoY from 1.861Mt in February 2025.

Imported clinker amounted to 145,883t, up from 125,825t a year earlier.

Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the US and Puerto Rico amounted to 12.8Mt in the first two months of 2026 up 7.5 per cent YoY from the same period of 2025.

Excluding for sales to Puerto Rico and overseas territories, cement consumption in the US was up 7.9 per cent YtD, coming in at 12.596Mt, compared to 11.675Mt a year earlier.

Blended cement shipments amounted to 7.890Mt in 2M26, up 14.6 per cent YoY from 6.882Mt in 2M25.

Clinker production, excluding Puerto Rico, saw an eight per cent YoY increase to 8.627Mt from 7.787Mt.

Imports of cement and clinker amounted to 3.079Mt in 2M26, down 8.7 per cent YoY from 3.372Mt. Türkiye accounted for 34 per cent of imports, followed by Vietnam with 21 per cent, Canada 11 per cent, Egypt eight per cent, Greece six per cent, Mexico and Algeria four per cent each and lesser amounts from a number of countries including the UAE, Colombia, South Korea, France, Thailand and Croatia.

Imported clinker amounted to 341,871t, up 41.1 per cent YoY from 242,371t in 2M25. Pakistan accounted for 25 per cent of imports, Türkiye 23 per cent, Egypt 21 per cent, Canada 13 per cent and Mexico and Algeria eight per cent each, with smaller amounts from Tunisia, Thailand and Ghana.
