The Meghalaya government will establish a fact-finding committee to examine concerns surrounding the public hearing for Shree Cement’s proposed plant in the Indian state.
Speaking to local media on 25 August, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the government welcomed Shree Cement’s proposed investment but stressed that the project must comply with applicable laws, regulations and environmental procedures.
The committee will examine concerns raised over participation in the public hearing process for the proposed project.
