Kyrgyzstan’s cement demand has stabilised at around 700,000t per month since the spring of 2026, supported by domestic production and continued imports, principally from Uzbekistan.
Official statistics show cement consumption reached 702,100t in April 2026, the highest monthly level recorded in the past 18 months and potentially a record for the country. Demand subsequently eased by 1.5 per cent in May and three per cent in June compared with April.
Domestic cement production remained relatively stable over the period, declining from 540,000t in April to 512,000t in June. Around half of the country’s cement production is concentrated at plants in the Chui region.
Imports increased slightly from 162,000t in April to 170,000t in June. More than two-thirds of imported cement is reportedly supplied by neighbouring Uzbekistan.
Preliminary operational data indicate that domestic cement production increased again in July, remaining within two per cent of the April peak. Complete import figures for July are expected to become available in mid-September.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s cement exports remain limited. The country exported less than 100t in 2025, while shipments in the first half of 2026 amounted to no more than 7000t.
