Germany-based Eggersmann Group is exploring opportunities to develop waste processing and alternative fuel infrastructure in Ukraine as part of the country’s reconstruction.

The company participated in a German green-tech delegation to Ukraine led by Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider from 17-21 August. Eggersmann was represented by Andre Berlage, managing director of BRT HARTNER.

Eggersmann highlighted the potential to process municipal solid waste, light packaging and waste wood into refuse-derived fuels (RDF), which could reduce industrial reliance on fossil fuels. The company has previous experience supplying waste-processing technology for cement production, including a project developed in Iraq following the defeat of Islamic State.
