Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the USA and Puerto Rico increased two per cent YoY to 9.27Mt in April 2026, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The leading cement consuming states were Texas, California, Florida, Ohio and Georgia represented 38.9 per cent of total shipments. Portland and blended cements were produced in mainly Texas, Missouri, California, Florida and Alabama.
Masonry cement shipments declined 4.5 per cent YoY to 183,000t and were mainly delivered to Florida, Texas, Georgia, California and Tennessee.
Clinker production, excluding Puerto Rico, totalled approximately 6.15Mt in April 2026 as output expanded by 14.9 per cent YoY. The leading clinker producing states were Texas, Missouri, California, Florida and Alabama.
Cement and clinker imports into the USA and Puerto Rico slipped 0.5 per cent YoY to 2.17Mt.
January-April 2026
Deliveries in the first four months of 2026 advanced 5.1 per cent YoY to approximately 30.5Mt when compared with deliveries in the January-April 2025 period. Of total blended cement shipments, 18.3Mt, or 95 per cent, was estimated to be Portland limestone cement (Type IL), with Texas as key destination.
In the 4M26 masonry cement shipments fell 8.1 per cent YoY to 616,000t.
Clinker output increased 7.3 per cent YoY to 19.8Mt in the 4M2026.
Cement and clinker imports into the USA and Puerto Rico edged up by 1.5 pe cent to 7.41Mt in the January-April 2026 period.
