UK-based materials technology company Vateris has secured binding offtake agreements and letters of intent with six construction and fertiliser companies, representing potential annual turnover of more than EUR50m (US$58m).
Holcim, Marshalls and Goldbeck have committed to purchase Vateris’ GypCarb engineered calcium carbonate for use in cement, concrete products and other construction materials. Waypoint Commodities and two unnamed fertiliser producers have committed to sulphate of potash.
The binding agreements cover production from Vateris’ planned UK demonstration plant, which is scheduled to begin operating in 2027. Separate, non-binding letters of intent cover larger volumes from a proposed European commercial plant targeted for 2029. Vateris said the letters represent 130 per cent of the planned main plant’s output.
Formerly known as Concrete4Change, Vateris uses industrial flue-gas CO2 and gypsum to produce calcium carbonate and sulphate of potash. It currently operates a pilot plant in Nottingham and is preparing a further funding round to support the demonstration facility and development of its first commercial-scale plant.
The company raised US$3.5m earlier in 2026 from investors including Holcim MAQER Ventures, Goldbeck, Zacua Ventures, Counteract and Kiilto Ventures, taking its total funding to US$10m.
