Siam City Cement Public Co (SCCC) plans to invest VND10.89trn (US$414m) in the proposed second and third production lines at its Hon Chong cement plant in Vietnam’s An Giang province.

The figure was disclosed by SCCC CEO Ranjan Sachdeva following recent discussions with Vietnam’s Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc. Including the existing Line 1, total investment at the site would reach VND16.51trn.

Operated by SCCC subsidiary INSEE Vietnam, Line 1 began production in 1994 following an investment of VND5.62trn. Capacities and the construction timetable for the new lines have not been disclosed.
