UK-based Reclinker has secured GBP10m (US$13.24m) in Series A funding, co-led by Clean Growth Fund and AP Ventures, to scale up its recycled clinker technology.

The process recovers cement paste from demolition waste and converts it into clinker in steelmaking electric arc furnaces, combining cement production with steel recycling.

According to Clean Growth Fund, Reclinker has already produced thousands of tonnes at 7 Steel UK’s Cardiff facility and secured initial commercial sales. The funding will support full commercial production in Cardiff and subsequent deployment in Europe and the US.

The investor says the technology can halve cement production emissions while achieving cost parity with conventional production.
