Nigerian investor Resident Group is exploring the establishment of a cement manufacturing plant in Uganda following talks between its chairman, Abbas Waziri, and President Yoweri Museveni on 6 October.
The meeting at State House Entebbe focused on investment opportunities and strengthening economic ties between Uganda and Nigeria. Waziri expressed interest in cement manufacturing alongside potential investments in Uganda’s minerals sector.
No plant location, production capacity, investment value or construction timetable was disclosed. The discussions represent an expression of investment interest rather than an approved project.
