Amrize is introducing its ‘Made in Canada’ label across its Canadian cement manufacturing network, covering plants in Richmond, British Columbia; Exshaw, Alberta; Bath, Ontario; and Brookfield, Nova Scotia.
Developed in accordance with Competition Bureau of Canada guidelines, the label confirms that the cement is manufactured domestically and contains more than 90 per cent Canadian content. Amrize’s Saint-Constant plant near Montreal will instead use the official ‘Manufactured in Québec’ designation administered by Les Produits du Québec.
Amrize said the initiative provides customers with a consistent means of identifying domestically produced cement while supporting Canadian employment and manufacturing.
The rollout coincides with investment in the company’s Canadian production network. Amrize recently began modernising its Saint-Constant cement plant, which it describes as the Canadian cement industry’s largest investment in more than a decade.
Amrize operates approximately 450 sites and employs more than 7500 people across Canada.
