Huanggang Ya Dong Cement is preparing to commission a new 7266tpd clinker line at its Wuxue plant in Hubei province, China. Main construction is substantially complete, with production targeted to begin by the end of November.
The CNY3.25bn (US$456m) project represents approximately 2.4Mta of clinker capacity and forms the second phase of the Asia Cement (China) subsidiary’s Wuxue operation.
The line has been developed under China’s capacity-replacement programme. Its 7266tpd capacity replaces two 4200tpd lines operated by Hubei Ya Dong Cement and a 2500tpd Wuhan Yaxin Cement line at a replacement ratio of 1.5:1. Hubei provincial authorities confirmed in October that the three older lines had been dismantled and were no longer capable of production.
