R.O.I. Economic Consulting was founded in 1986 by Robert Roy. Its primary customers are manufacturers in the cement, construction, and building materials industries, as well as companies concerned about these industries, such as banks, investors, and government agencies. It has three main activities: 1) Publishing R.O.I. Economic Consulting is a frequent publisher of purchasable studies concerning North American building materials, especially cement. Rob recently created www.concrete-economics.com, a blog devoted to the economics of construction and building materials. 2) Consulting ROIEC prepares confidential studies on topics such as corporate takeovers and mergers, location of new plants/import terminals, and vertical integration. Services provided also include economic analysis, statistical analysis, market research, survey research, financial analysis, feasibility studies, expert witness testimony, and environmental impact statements. Since 1986, ROIEC has carried out research for virtually all major cement companies operating in the United States and Canada, including the largest multinationals. 3) Computer services ROIEC maintains comprehensive databases on the cement, construction, and building materials industries, including county, metro area, state, regional, national and international data. Because of these databases, customised reports can be produced quickly, but still have comprehensive information.
