Bangladesh approves Aramit’s rights offer

Bangladesh's securities regulator Tuesday approved the rights offer of Aramit Cement to boost the company's capital base, according to local press reports. The cement manufacturer will offer one rights share against one existing shae, at an offer price of BDT15 each, including BDT5 as premium. The company will issue BDT1.69 crore rights shares to its existing shareholders to raise the fund. AAA Consultant and Financial Advisers will manage the rights share issue.

Bangladesh sets next export revenue target

The government of Bangladesh has set an export revenue target of US$6.46m for cement, stone and salt over FY13-14 its export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has said. However, the country is facing a number of challenges as deliveries to its main export market of India have recently been in decline. Spanish cement maker Cementos Molins reported a 53 per cent on the year drop in its profit for the first quarter of 2013 to EUR4.7m, mainly due to the losses sustained by the domestic market.
