Cemex announced yesterday that consolidated net sales reached US$3.8bn during the second quarter of 2015, representing a decline of eight per cent YoY, or an increase of five per cent on a like-for-like basis for ongoing operations and adjusting for currency fluctuations. Cemex Latin American Holdings' first-half turnover declined by 13.4 per cent to US$747.6m, while the EBITDA came off by 16.6 per cent to US$283.1m. At the trading level there was an 18.6 per cent reduction to US$191.7m. After a net interest charge 14.8 per cent lower at US$40.6m, the pre-tax profit emerged 22.9 per cent lower at US$142m. Cemex Dominicana increases packing and palletising capacity

Cemex Dominicana recently announced a US$6m investment to increase the packing and palletizing capacity of its cement plant at San Pedro de Macoris (east). It said the investment in a new cement packing unit forms part of the company’s strategic plan in the Dominican Republic in response to local market requirements, Dominican Today reports. The new unit will boost Cemex's capacity by more than 1.5m additional bags monthly, or 800,000tpa.

Cemex has invested GBP1m in a new concrete plant at its existing site in Leeds, UK. Cemex demolished the old plant in January 2015 after 63 years of operations.
