Indonesian cement demand growth is expected to slow in 2014 but sales are anticipated to rebound next year as new projects get underway. The French cement market continues to contract with the country’s cement association, SFIC, released its provisional November 2014 data. Market demand fell 11.8 per cent YoY to 1.347Mt against a 10.6 per cent YoY drop noted the previous month, when domestic cement sales reached 1.726Mt. Argentina’s cement consumption falls 4.7 per cent MoM

In November, Argentina’s cement market contracted by 9.4 per cent MoM and 4.7 per cent YoY as 997,440t of cement were sold, according to the country's cement association, AFCP. The country’s cement producers delivered 1,011,082t, including exports and as such saw their sales volumes drop 9.3 per cent MoM. When compared with November 2013, dispatches fell by 4.8 per cent.

Cement dispatches in Colombia saw a 5.5 per cent YoY expansion to 1.09Mt in October 2014, according to the latest data published by Dane, the country’s statistics office. Cement production in Kenya rose by 15.2 per cent as consumption in the east African country surges, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Indonesian cement consumption increased by 3.2 per cent in October 2014 and year-to-date sales were ahead by 3.4 per cent. Vietnam's total cement sales including exports increased six per cent YoY to reach 53.22Mt in the first 10 months of 2014, latest data from the country's Construction Ministry's Building Material Department reveals.
