Despite reporting an increase in 2011 cement sales, Czech cement producer Cement Hranice company expects a decline this year the Euro zone sovereign debt crisis and a continuing fall in construction output. Cement production in the Czech Republic declined 14% YoY to 465,555t in the January-March period due to a drop in construction activity and a cold winter, the Czech Cement Producers Association has said. Cement production in the Czech Republic rose by 15% to 3.8Mt last year while domestic sales increased five per cent to around 3Mt, the Association of Cement Producers said.
