Bosnia: TCK expects flat output

Mr Langvad has worked for Cemex for 19 years and has more than 30 years of experience in the cement industry. Italcementi improves margins

Italcementi's 2014 turnover declined by a further 1.8 per cent to EUR4155.6m but the underlying EBITDA did improve by 3.2 per cent to EUR649.1m. CRH earnings up 11%

CRH’s turnover increased by 4.9 per cent in 2014 to EUR18,912m while the EBITDA advanced by 11.3 per cent to EUR1641m. The trading profit before charging EUR49m of impairments rose by 28.8 per cent to EUR966m. Eurozone construction output down 0.8% in December

Construction output in the eurozone contracted in December, led by falls in Germany and Spain, according to the Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office. Production in construction fell by 0.8 per cent  month-on-month at the end of last year. Building production dropped by one per cent on the month while that of civil engineering rose by 1.7 per cent. Lafarge's turnover eased by 1.9 per cent to EUR12,843m in 2014 and the EBITDA came off 2.6 per cent to EUR2721m, having fallen by 9.4 per cent in 2013. Including share of associates, turnover eased by 0.2 per cent to EUR15,167m and the EBITDA by 0.4 per cent to EUR3091m. Buzzi Unicem's turnover eased by 0.1 per cent last year to €2506m, but ignoring the exchange rate effect there would have been a 3.4 per cent improvement. Net debt at the end of December was 3.1 per cent below the level seen a year earlier at €1063m. Cementir Holding's turnover in 2014 declined by 4.1 per cent to EUR948m, but at constant currencies there would have been a 5.3 per cent increase. The EBITDA, however, improved by 13.4 per cent to EUR192.4m, in spite of negative exchange rate movements though it was boosted by non-recurring credits of around EUR12m. Vicat's turnover improved by six per cent in 2014 to €2423m, which translates into an underlying increase of eight per cent  on a like-for-like basis. Turnover in cement advanced by 13.7 per cent  to €1261m, or €1483m before deducting inter-group transfers. CRH strikes deal to acquire €6.5bn Holcim and Lafarge assets

CRH has reached a deal to acquire €6.5bn in the assets of Lafarge and Holcim who are restructuring to win regulatory approval for their planned merger.
