Bolivia: Fancesa launches tender for new works

Bolivia’s Fábrica Nacional de Cemento SA (Fancesa) has launched the international tender process for its new US$227m cement plant in Sucre. The 2Mta works is the latest step in capacity expansion for the cement producer. On 19 May 2014, Bolivia’s president, Evo Morales, inaugurated a new line at the company’s Sucre works.

Bolivian cement producer Fancesa will put out its planned new cement works out to tender next year. Mirko Gardilcic, Fancesa manager, said the new works will be a split-site plant with the clinker factory in the outskirts of Sucre while the grinding unit will be built near Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Bolivia: Fancesa increases output 18%

Bolivia’s Fábrica Nacional de Cemento SA (Fancesa) increased its production by 18 per cent, delivering an extra 11,000 bags of cement to the market. "We were with 51,000 bags of cement and 62,000 dispatched now, our projection is to reach 72,000 bags of cement per day" said Fancesa director, Luis Ayllon. In Santa Cruz, Fancesa’s main market, daily deliveries increased from 26,000 to 34,000 bags.

Bolivia’s Fancesa announces 0.66Mta capacity expansion by 2016

Fancesa celebrated its 54th anniversary by announcing plans for a new factory, enabling the Bolivian cement makers to produce an additional 2000tpd of clinker, equivalent to 0.86Mta of cement. The US$220m plant would enter service by 2016. Bolivia’s government and local cement producers have agreed to raise cement production by 17 per cent next year, taking the current figure of 3Mta to 3.5Mta.
