The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee has demanded Ha Tien 1 Cement cease operation of its Thu Duc cement grinding station and relocate the plant. Ha Tien 1 Cement JSC (HT1) said its net profit jumped to VND250.36bn (US$11.64m) in the first quarter of this year, from VND2bn in the same period of 2014, thanks to an increase in financial incomes and a decease in financial costs. Vietnamese producer Ha Tien 1 Cement JSC (HT1) is seeking government approval to import coal from Indonesia for cement production as the market price has fallen sharply along with the drop in crude oil prices.
