The now-quoted Cimpor subsidiary Loma Negra is to invest some US$350m in the construction of an additional production line at its L’Amali works in Olavarría, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The construction of the new kiln and two vertical roller mills as well as a complete system for bagging and palletising should be completed during 2020. This investment should increase the capacity by around 40 per cent to 2.7Mta.

Loma Negra to double-list

Argentina’s Loma Negra has followed up its initial public offering (IPO) in New York with an offering on the domestic stock exchange, according to Brazil’s Valor newspaper. Analysts forecast the domestic float, expected as early as this month, could bring more than US$100m to the company’s coffers. The cement producer will use the funds to expand its Amali works, a project which requires an investment of US$350m, as well as reducing debt.

Loma Negra has Loma Negra approved the construction of a new cement plant in San Juan, according to the Argentine cement producer’s manager, Osvaldo Schütz. Argentina’s Court of Appeal has rejected the appeal made by Loma Negra, Juan Minetti, Cementos Avellaneda, Petroquímica Comodoro Rivadavia and Cemento San Martín, upholding the previous price-fixing ruling and the multi-million peso fines attached. Loma Negra announces new plant construction, Argentina

Argentine cement producer Loma Negra has announced it will invest US$250m in a new cement plant in the province of San Juan. The factory will be built in the town of Pocito, 20km from the capital of San Juan, and will have a production capacity of 1Mta of cement. Currently, Loma Negra has nine plants, six of which are in the province of Buenos Aires, while the remaining are in Neuquén, San Juan and Catamarca. Loma Negra is part of Brazilian conglomerate Camargo Corrêa.
