Officials with the Alabama Concrete Industries Association said Alabama saw a 14 per cent increase in the demand for concrete last year, but the current cement shortage might cause some projects to be delayed. ELEX complete cold start-up of Ragland ESP unit

The cold start-up of an ELEX's new electrostatic precipitator (ESP) at National Cement's ( Vicat group ) Ragland cement plant in the USA has been successfully completed. The ELEX ESP, which is responsible for primary dedusting, has a separation area of approximately 7000m 2 , which is roughly the size of a football field. Depending on the application and requirements, ELEX claims it can also build ESPs with a separation area seven times larger.  

US Portland and blended cement market expands in January

Portland and blended cement shipments in the USA and Puerto Rico, including imports, edged up to 6.6Mt in January 2022, according to the US Geological Survey USGS). The largest consuming states were Texas, Florida, California, Georgia and Arizona, who accounted for a total share of 51 per cent of these shipments.
