Pakistan market leader Lucky Cement reported a 20 per cent rise in net profit for the first half of FY14 boosted by in part by higher prices. UAE-based producer Fujairah Cement recorded a AED12m (US$3.3m) loss last year as a weaker pricing environment affected revenue despite higher sales. Cement prices in China are expected to increase by 10 and five per cent in 2014 and 2015, respectively, according to research report by HSBC.
