Qatar National Cement profits rise 6% in 2018

In a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatar National Cement reported a 53.4 per cent YoY increase in fourth-quarter profits to QAR129.03m (US$35.4m) and a 6.4 per cent YoY rise to QAR347.83m for the full year of 2018. The company saw profits fall to QAR218.8m in 3Q18 from QAR242.8m in 3Q2017.

Qatar National Cement to produce white cement

Qatar National Cement Co (QNCC) has announced it will produce white cement following its acquisition of the necessary licences for the product. QNCC white cement will be available in 50kg bags priced at QAR25 (US$6.87) and in bulk, at a price of QAR500/t.

Al Khalij Cement Company (AKCC), part of Qatari Investors Group, has announced that its Umm Bab plant will produce oil well cement (OWC) Class ‘G’ at Grade (s) HSR, having received a certification from the American Petroleum Institute (API). Qatar Cement records 6% profit decline in 2Q18

Qatar National Cement recorded a six per cent YoY fall in net profit to QAR78.26m (US$21.5m) in the 2Q18, compared with QAR83.25m of the year-ago period. In the 1H18 period the company’s profit remained mostly flat YoY, reaching QAR168.52m from QAR168.09m. However, revenue showed a significant decline of 21.9 per cent to QAR434.55m from QAR556.75m.

QNCC to increase capacity in 2H18

Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC) is expected to increase its production capacity by 5500tpd during 2H18, due to the start-up of a new plant later in the year. The company also announced that its total production of OPC and SRC cement decreased to 3.5Mt in the 2017 full-year period, compared to 3.7Mt of the previous year. Qatar National Cement sees 32% drop in net profit in 3Q17

Qatar National Cement Co disclosed its interim financial statement for the period ended  30 September 2017. The company's 3Q net profit is QAR242.805m, down 31.7 per cent compared to QAR355.482m for the same period of the previous year. Earnings per share (EPS) amounted to QAR3.72 for the 3Q17 (QAR5.44 fin 3Q16).

Qatar National Cement Co reported a 34.9 per cent YoY drop in profits for 2Q17, according to a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE). Profits declined to QAR83.3m (US$22m) from QAR127.9m reported in the equivalent period of the previous year. In the first half of 2017, the company posted a 33.2 per cent decrease in profits reaching QAR168.1m against QAR 251.7m in 1H16.
