MSG Group signs Berbera plant deal with Bedeschi

MSG Group of Companies through its Dubai based subsidiary company, Horn Holding Group Ltd (HHG), has signed an agreement with Bedeschi SPA for the construction of phase 1 of an integrated cement plant in Berbera, Somaliland. The plant will take about 18 months to construct with installed cement capacity of 700,000tpa. Raysut Cement establishes partnership for Somaliland plant

Oman’s Raysut Cement Co has established a partnership with MSG Group to set up a grinding unit in Somaliland, an autonomous region of Somalia. The 1Mta unit is expected to be constructed in Berbera, Somaliland, at an investment of around US$40m. Raysut reportedly has 55 per cent of the share capital of the project, according to Reuters.

The government of Somaliland, an autonomous region of Somalia, has passed over ownership of the Berbera cement plant to a Red Sea Cement, a new company jointly established by the Dahabshiil Group, Berbera Group and the Kuwaiti Kipco. Raysut Cement announced that the new gas supply station has been commissioned at its Salalah plant and commercial operation has already begun. Omani producer Raysut Cement has announced that it has agreed a deal with Barwaaquo Cement of Somaliland to operate a joint venture terminal for the packaging and distribution of cement.
