The State Bank of Pakistan has released its annual report on Pakistan's economy for the fiscal year 2017-18. Bangladesh's cement industry recorded export revenue of US$3.17m during July-Sept 2018 compared to US$2.72m of the corresponding year-ago period, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau. A light vessel carrying 1500t of clinker capsized near Bhasanchar if Noakhali in the Bay of Bengal on 9 September. Bangladesh government has set an export target of US$14m for cement industry for the financial year 2018-19 (June-July) against US$12.59m from last fiscal year. The target is based on an expected growth of 11.20 per cent. Pakistan cement industry's FY19 started positively in terms of exports with rises in the first month July 2018. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$20.96m by exporting 475,134t of cement last month compared to US$16.31m on 369,506t of cement.
