Pakistan exports of cement show dismal figure in 6MFY2016-17

Pakistan cement exporters have earned revenues of US$16.36m on exports of 309,868t cement in December 2016, compared to US$23.68m on 455,720t of exports in the previous month. These figures represent a MoM decline in dollar value and volumes of 32 and 30 per cent, respectively. Preliminary data from the US Geological Survey (USGS) for US shipments of cement in August 2016 estimate that Portland and blended cement totalled 9.41Mt in the month. Vietnam earned US$260.64m from exporting 7.12Mt of cement and clinker in the first five months of this year, down 0.7 per cent on-year in value and 15.7 per cent in volume. Cement offerings for export have resumed at Iran Mercantile Exchange, the IME chief said.
