Pakistan nine-month sales up 7% YoY

Cement sales in Pakistan increased by seven per cent YoY in the first nine months of the current fiscal to reach 30.304Mt, latest data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) reveals. Irish Cement has defended its plans to burn up to 90,000tpa of waste materials following concerns by local residents over the health and safety impact of the development. Cemex SAB de CV has announced that the European Commission has refused Cemex permission to sell its Croation operations to Duna-Drava Cement Kft, a joint venture owned by HeidelbergCement and Schenk Zement AG.
