Iran’s output surpasses 29Mt in first five months

Iran’s cement output totalled 29.504Mt in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year beginning 21 March 2014, the country’s Mehr News Agency reported. Heracles profit lifted by exports, demand pick up

Greece-based Heracles General Cement Co reported a 9.3 per cent YoY increase in sales for the first half of 2014 to EUR123.4m. Pakistan's export earnings down by one-third

During the first month of the new Pakistan fiscal, cement exports declined by 30.31 per cent YoY to 557,159t, with shipments to Afghanistan falling significantly. Colombian cement consumption increased 8.1 per cent to 1.059Mt in July 2014 when compared with the same month a year ago, according to the country's statistics office, Dane. The rise has been attributed to a stronger demand from retail outlets and concrete companies. Dalmia plans merger of listed cement units

India-based Dalmia Group is considering merging its two listed cement units, OCL India and Dalmia Bharat, according to local press reports citing sources with knowledge in the matter. Shree Cement has entered into an agreement to buy Jaiprakash Associates 1.5Mta cement grinding unit in the Panipat district of Haryana state in north India. Vietnam producers sold 4.42Mt of cement to the domestic market in July, up 12 per cent from the previous month and 14 per cent from the same period a year ago, the Vietnam Cement Association said.
