Steel producer starts blastfurnace slag supply to French cement plant

A French cement plant has taken a first order for 50,000t of blastfurnace slag from Liberty Galați of Romania. The slag will be converted into low-carbon cement to lower the cement producer's carbon footprint. RINL and CCI to set up cement plant

Steel producer Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) and the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to establish a 2Mta fly ash and blastfurnace slag-based cement plant in a joint venture in two phases of 1Mta capacity each. RINL is offering around 35 acres of land for the proposed plant on its premises. The project is proposed to be completed in 15 months from the date of placement of order.

US environmentalists to set out case against Orcem plant

Environmental activists will today take their case against a proposed Orcem cement plant and marine terminal to the public, according to local media reports. Odra cement works orders new VRM, Poland

Gebr Pfeiffer has been awarded the contract to supply a MPS 3070 BC vertical roller for grinding 46tph of blast-furnace slag for the Odra works situated in Opole, Poland. The slag, ground to 3800cm²/g Blaine, is intended to be used as an additive to the cement.
