Bangladesh has set an export target for the cement industry at US$11m during the 12 months of the ongoing financial year, ending 31 June 2023, compared to US$9.57m earned in FY21-22. Cement exports from Pakistan increased 4.6 per cent YoY during the first eleven months of FY20-21, rising to US$253.584m from US$242.505m, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In terms of quantity, cement exports rose 13.3 per cent from 6,570,921t to 7,442,573t. In May 2021, cement exports advanced 47.8 per cent YoY to US$28.527m from US$19.302m in the year-ago period.

Vietnam exported 2.7Mt of cement and clinker worth US$98m in February, up 16.8 per cent and 4.8 per cent YoY, respectively, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the first two months of this year, the country exported 5.84Mt of cement and clinker (up 15.9 per cent) representing a value of US$214m (up 6.6 per cent).

Indonesia's cement sales fall 10% in 2020

Indonesia's 2020 domestic cement sales were recorded at 62.7Mt. The Indonesian Cement Association (ASI) reports the sales represent a fall by 10.4 per cent from 2019 sales of 70Mt, the lowest growth in 10 years.   The highest number of domestic cement sales in 2020 occurred in October at 6.2Mt, while the lowest sales occurred in May of 3.2Mt.   By December 2020, both monthly and yearly, sales on all islands contracted.
