Pakistan's cement exports rise 5% YoY

Cement exports from Pakistan increased 4.6 per cent YoY during the first eleven months of FY20-21, rising to US$253.584m from US$242.505m, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In terms of quantity, cement exports rose 13.3 per cent from 6,570,921t to 7,442,573t. In May 2021, cement exports advanced 47.8 per cent YoY to US$28.527m from US$19.302m in the year-ago period.

Vietnam sees cement and clinker exports rise 16%

Vietnam exported 2.7Mt of cement and clinker worth US$98m in February, up 16.8 per cent and 4.8 per cent YoY, respectively, according to the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the first two months of this year, the country exported 5.84Mt of cement and clinker (up 15.9 per cent) representing a value of US$214m (up 6.6 per cent).

Indonesia's 2020 domestic cement sales were recorded at 62.7Mt. Indonesia's cement demand fell 9.7 percent to 17,499,807t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the 3Q19, according to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). The decline in domestic cement consumption was mitigated by a 62.4 per cent surge in exports, which increased to 3,128,985t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the year-ago period. A total of 54,000t of cement have been exported to Afghanistan from Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran, since the start of the Iranian year on 20 March.
