Iran set to export over 14,000t of cement to Somalia

Over 14,000t of cement is set to be exported from Iran’s southern island of Qeshm to Somalia, according to Iran Daily. "A 14,500t cargo of bagged cement produced in Qeshm will be exported to Somalia on a Tanzanian ship named AMINA-H," said Pejman Bahrami, deputy head for maritime transport and port affairs, Qeshm Free Zone Organization. Vietnamese exports rise 15% in February

Vietnamese exports have risen 15.2 per cent in volume and 36.3 per cent in value for February 2019, rising to around 2.5Mt and US$105m, respectively. The average export price has increased 18.3 per cent YoY to US$42/t, according to the country’s Foreign Trade Agency. Iranian province records export increase

Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan reported a 40 per cent increase in clinker and cement exports to 400,000t during the eight-month period between 21 March-21 November 2018, according to Masoumeh Mousavi of the country’s Mine and Trade Department. Products from the area were exported to Oman, UAE, Tanzania and South Africa.

Tajikistan exported 1.1Mt of cement to neighbouring countries in the first 10 months of 2018, an increase of 30 per cent compared to the year-ago period, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT). Iran’s cement exports increased seven per cent YoY to 3.8Mt in the first seven months of the Iranian year started 21 March, according to Abdurreza Sheykhan, chairman of Iran's Cement Industry Employers Association. Bangladesh's cement industry export revenues saw a growth of 24.01 per cent during the first 11 months of FY17-18 (July 2017-May 2018), says data released by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).   The country exported cement and other materials worth of US$11.88m during the 11MFY17-18, compared to US$9.58m earned in the year-ago corresponding months. Egypt's cement exports increased 49 per cent during 2017 to reach US$94m, compared to US$63m in 2016, according to a report from the General Organization for Exports and Imports Control. Vietnam exported 17.48Mta of cement and clinker worth US$613.3m in the first 11 months of this year, according to Vietnam News. This represents a 30.4 per cent increase in volume and a 20.2 per cent rise in value from the year-ago period. Fauji Cement Company Ltd (FCCL) has announced plans to set up a greenfield project. The Pakistan-based company currently operates a 3.43Mta cement plant in Jhang Bahtar, Attock District. Iran has exported cement to the value US$233m in the first seven months of the current financial year (started 20 March 2017). In terms of volumes, 7.1Mt of cement were exported to some 34 countries during this period.
