Bestway Cement's Farooqia plant completes 6000tpd expansion project

Bestway Cement Ltd has completed the installation of its Farooqia plant brownfield expansion project, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The expansion also includes a 9MW waste heat recovery power plant. The eight brownfield cement projects with a total capacity of 18.8Mta are at various stages of completion and scheduled to be commissioned between June 2019 and June 2020 at an estimated cost of over PKR159bn (US$1.37bn) in Pakistan, according to a research house report. This week, Pakistani cement producer DG Khan Cement launched the largest cement plant in the country as it commissioned its greenfield project at Hub , in Balochistan province, southern Pakistan. DG Khan Cement Co Ltd (DGKC), informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has completed the installation of country's largest cement plant of 9000tpd at Hub, Baluchistan province, near Karachi. Star Cement receives government subsidies to reduce debt

Star Cement has received INR2bn (US$29.7m) towards a subsidies claim from the central government. The company intends to use the amount to further reduce its debt. Earlier in April company had received IN800m (US$11.8m) of subsidies and also used it for debt reduction. Cemex receives environmental approval for Solid Cement expansion

Ceemex has been given the all clear from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the its proposed expansion of its cement plant the Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines. The Solid Cement Corp (SCC) plant will be expanded by 1.5Mta, doubling cement capacity at the facility with the new line. JK Cement is planning to almost double its grey cement capacity to 18Mta in four years with brownfield and greenfield expansions. Eagle Cement Corp has broken ground on the fourth production line at its Cebu plant.
