Penna to construct Maharashtra grinding unit

Penna Cement Industries to set up a cement grinding unit with a capacity of 0.7Mta at Daund, in the Pune district of Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the project is INR2bn (US$32m). Gannon Dunkerley Co will be the project contractor and Walchandnagar Industries has been awarded the contract for equipment supplier.

Loesche installation at Elmadag works, Turkey

Loesche is now starting to install a 260tph raw meal mill at Bastas Baskent Cimento’s Elmadag cement works in Turkey, after a delivery time of just 10 months. Loesche awarded SCG Cement order, Thailand

Loesche has been awarded a contract by SCG Cement to deliver an LM 56.3+3 C vertical roller mill for clinker grinding at the cement producer's plant in Ta Luang, Thailand. PPC Zimbabwe Ltd is expected to commission its new cement mill at its plant in Harare next year, an official has said. "We are spending about $75m on our Harare mill this year and we are expecting to commission it in the first quarter of 2016," PPC Zimbabwe managing director Njombo Lekula told AllAfrica news. Shree Cement has commissioned a 2.6Mta cement mill at Baloda Bazar near Raipur in Chhattisgarh, India, on 24 February 2015, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. Shree Cement’s eight cement plants in Rajasthan and one grinding unit in Uttrakhand have an aggregate capacity of 13.5Mta.

Egypt: ACC secures loan to part-finance expansion

Arabian Cement Company (ACC) said it signed Wednesday an agreement with Saudi British Bank for a SAR400m (US$106.6m) Islamic financing. The loan is to be repaid over a period of five years, including a one-year grace period. The cement firm said it will use the loan to finance part of the first phase of an expansion project to enhance grinding capacity.

Oman Cement 2014 profit declines on weaker sales, clinker imports

Oman Cement reported a 12.8 per cent decline in net profit on account of weaker sales, lower clinker production and higher volumes of imported clinker, the company said on Monday. Clinker imports were brought in by the company during the year due to one of its kilns being closed temporarily for capacity enhancement.
