CimMetal awards Togo grinding contract to Intercem

Togo-based cement producer CimMetal has placed the order for various equipment for its 2.5Mta VRM-based grinding plant at Lomé with Austrian equipment supplier Intercem. Kant modernises packing department

Kant Cement plant in the Chui region, Kyrgyz Republic, has modernised the packing department. The company installed a Turbo K8 filling machine from Russia-based Vselug for more accurate and convenient packing of cement. German BERG compressors to clean sleeves also entered service. Kant aims to ship at least 60 per cent of its products in 25kg and 50kg bags. The new equipment will enable the cement plant to provide 24/7 product delivery.

Raysut Cement opens new packing line

Oman's Raysut Cement Co recently inaugurated a new packing line, installed by a leading European equipment manufacturer. The new line will double the packing capacity at its Salalah plant, enabling the company to supply an additional 1Mta of bagged supply to the export markets of Yemen, Somalia and east Africa. Lipetskcement brings new logistics facility online

Lipetskcement, part of the Eurocement Group, has launched a new RUB600m (US$10.4m) production and logistics facility for packing, palletising and shipping of cement. The investment enables Lipetskcement to ship up to 10,000tpd of cement. The company has increased its loading rate of bulk cement trucks by more than five times. Fabrica Nacional de Cemento SA (Fancesa) has received four proposals for the modernisation of its packing department at its Cal Orck’o plant, Bolivia. Haver & Boecker, FL Smidth Ventomatic, Claudius Peters Inc and Beumer Latinoamérica all responded to the call for tender to supply equipment for a new cement silo, a rotary packer with automatic bag applicator and a mechanised truck loading system.

Russia: Kavkazcement upgrades packing and shipment facility

Eurocement Group has started operation of a cement palletisation and shipment facility at Kavkazcement in Karachay-Cherkessia, northern Caucasus. A new automated bulk cement shipment system and enhanced dust control system will help speed up the shipment of products more than five-fold, improve customer services and working conditions at the plant.

Cemex to invest US$7m in San Pedro de Macoris

Cemex is investing DOP315m (US$7m) in a new packing and palletising line at its San Pedro de Macoris plant, Dominican Republic, to increase capacity and cover market demand for the next five years. In addition, the company will also carry out an upgrade to one of the works’ mills. This will allow the company to increase output and ensure a greater continuity of operation. Cemex is also investing MXN256.5m in 50 concrete mixing trucks.
