In August Peruvian cement demand reached 0.868Mt, representing 4.3 per cent decline YoY, according to Asocem, the country's cement association. Cementos Pacasmayo SAA and subsidiaries announced that its Board of Directors have approved the separation of its phosphate operations Fosfatos del Pacifico (FOSPAC) from its cement operations. Votorantim Cimentos has made an agreement with Concesur (Consorcio Cementero del Sur) to purchase the cement assets of Cementos Orotongo acquired by Votorantim in 2012 from Cimpor. Peru's cement market contracted 3.7 per cent YoY in July as 772,000t were sold, according to the latest data by Asocem, the Peruvian cement association. Cementos Pacasmayo SAA has announced its consolidated results for the 2Q16, stating that volumes of cement, concrete and blocks rose 4.8 per cent during the period and revenues increased 9.1 per cent to PEN301.7m (US$90.6m). In June, Peruvian cement demand fell by 3.5 per cent YoY to 0.756Mt from 0.781Mt, according to Asocem, the country's cement association. Peru: Inka to start Pisco cement plant construction

Cementos Inka will begin construction of a second cement plant in Pisco, Peru, in the next few months. This second unit will be situated on a 20ha plot and should begin production in the 4Q17.
