Pakistani company to set up cement processing plant at Sri Lanka’s Hambantota Port

The Sri Lankan government has received the approval from the cabinet to award a contract to a Pakistani company to set up a cement processing plant at the Hambantota port.

Accordingly, on a proposal submitted by the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Minister of Ports and Highways, Thatta Cement Co. of Pakistan will set up the cement grinding plant at the southern port.

The cabinet has already approved three other companies to set up plants at the port.
