Holcim puts New Zealand plant on hold
06 October 2011

Holcim has put plans for a new factory near the South Island town of Oamaru on hold, according to local press reports.

A decision on the US$400m plan was expected in August this year but Holcim New Zealand’s project manager, Ken Cowie, said the company’s Swiss headquarters has put the project on hold due to global economic uncertainties. He added that the project is not to be considered again until next year.
